With a left leg Marcelinho Furtado saved New los Angeles from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, New los Angeles's goal looked a bit too open when Rogério Seco came free, but Marcelinho Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alan dos Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan dos Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th match minute, Canoas United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. Nelson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Ferraz in the 37th minute of play. Marcelinho Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Guimarães in the 39th minute of play. New los Angeles were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Canoas United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Víktor Souza took the corner. Marcelinho Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Guimarães in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Celso Guimarães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelinho Furtado. New los Angeles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Guimarães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Guimarães in the 85th minute of play forced New los Angeles's goalkeeper Marcelinho Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Netto in the 92nd minute of play. Luisinho Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. If Celso Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Canoas United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
