In the 22nd match minute, Canoas United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duda Simões to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Canoas United booed when Guaxima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felippe Souto took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nelson Neto. Nelson Neto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the last second Edgar Alagoano throw himself and got hold of the ball when Celso Guimarães in the 33rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Nelson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Souto in the 36th minute of play. When Rony Seco fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guaxima's protests and gave Rony Seco a yellow card for diving instead. Guaxima's Edgar Alagoano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Guaxima from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the match, Canoas United's goal looked a bit too open when Naldo Tavares came free, but Nelson Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard and well directed shot from Duda Simões led 48 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Guaxima's Edgar Alagoano became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-1.

The wind increased when Naldo Tavares made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Canoas United's goal looked a bit too open when Naldo Tavares came free, but Nelson Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felippe Souto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nelson Neto firmly grabbed it by the left post. The match ended in a draw.
