Abadia's Yuri Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlinhos Bezerra in the 8th minute of play. If Sidnei Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Paulo Salgado scored 1-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yuri Maranhense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Golden Warriors's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Seco came free, but Frederico Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48thth minute of the game Sidnei Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden Warriors's Frederico Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlinhos Bezerra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Abadia's Sidnei Seco in the 73rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Frederico Cabral was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Golden Warriors through an amazing save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio de Salles got free with Frederico Cabral in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlinhos Bezerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yuri Maranhense having to make a save. A collision led to Golden Warriors getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Walmir de Barros hit a great ball. Frederico Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidnei Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fernando Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute Sidnei Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Abadia booed when Golden Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sérgio de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Golden Warriors were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Abadia for a fine match.
