That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. In the 13th match minute, New los Angeles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, New los Angeles's Víktor Souza got a free kick in the 15th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Sidnei Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abadia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidnei Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelinho Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio de Salles in the 28th minute of play. After 30 played minutes New los Angeles got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Ferraz. Sérgio de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Furtado having to interfere. Marcelinho Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidnei Seco in the 35th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, one of Abadia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Víktor Souza walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 43rd minute Claudinho Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celsinho Matoss short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Yuri Maranhense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 45 minutes into the game, Noel Alcântara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New los Angeles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abadia the free kick. Noel Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sidnei Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Abadia's protests and gave Sidney Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Diego Sergipano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio de Salles got free with Marcelinho Furtado in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yuri Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Matos in the 80th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio de Salles got free with Marcelinho Furtado in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Sérgio de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to New los Angeles getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Serafim Britto hit a great ball. Sérgio de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Marcelinho Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinho Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
