After having played for 8 minutes, Raphael Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barcelona de Itaquá FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raphael Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the game, Raúl Bueno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rato F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcelona de Itaquá FC the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Rato F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Bueno to maneuver through the defense. If Raphael Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Rato F.C.'s Hélder Monteiro got a free kick in the 18th minute. Raphael Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filipe Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Gildo Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rato F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Gildo Sergipano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Nistelrooy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd match minute, Rato F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Paraense to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Raphael Luz suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Amadeu de Amorim's late challenge caught a Barcelona de Itaquá FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeu de Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. Thiago Nistelrooy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Amorim in the 41st minute of the match. If Francisco Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Filipe Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barcelona de Itaquá FC's Francisco Aguiar got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Aguiar was the one to do the kick off. Thiago Nistelrooy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Fontes in the 51st minute of play. Barcelona de Itaquá FC were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Rato F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adalberto Saraiva took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in Rato F.C.'s zone, Francisco Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Zonta came out of the goal and Francisco Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Filipe Lima came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Barcelona de Itaquá FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Lima couldn't finish the play. Thiago Taffarel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Zonta having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Barcelona de Itaquá FC's Filipe Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franklin Zonta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Raúl Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thiago Taffarel's late challenge caught a Rato F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thiago Taffarel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rato F.C. booed when Barcelona de Itaquá FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Taffarel didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Gildo Sergipano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The attack was good, but when Zé Roberto Amorim in the 68th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Franklin Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Francisco Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Franklin Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona de Itaquá FC. Francisco Aguiar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franklin Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. If Francisco Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Rato F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Aguiar came free, but Franklin Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Franklin Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona de Itaquá FC. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Barcelona de Itaquá FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
