Danilo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Gaspar having to interfere. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Renato Alcântara sped through Inova FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juninho Gaspar. The supporters of Inova FC booed when Matuapira FutBol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Matuapira FutBol Club defense, Alberto Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel de Queirós. The Matuapira FutBol Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel de Queirós should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute, Renato Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The nice shot from Renato Alcântara in the 25thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Juninho Gaspar had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. A collision led to Matuapira FutBol Club getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Téo da Cunha hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Inova FC's goalkeeper Juninho Gaspar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renato Alcântara. Inova FC's goalie Juninho Gaspar was quick on his feet when Hasret Arkan aimed and made a shot towards the top left corner. The goalie picked down the ball without great difficulties. If Renato Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Inova FC defense, Danilo Araújo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Gaspar. The Inova FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Gaspar should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Oliveira to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Inova FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Mendebal came free, but Juninho Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matuapira FutBol Club's Danilo Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Inova FC's Cristian Antunes got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Inova FC's zone, Danilo Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Gaspar came out of the goal and Danilo Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dino Bezerra got free with Emanuel de Queirós in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernardo Mendebal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Bernardo Mendebal made a precise shot to the right of Juninho Gaspar. Inova FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Renato Alcântara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juninho Gaspar having to make a save. The Matuapira FutBol Club fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Matuapira FutBol Club's Renato Alcântara looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Juninho Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Gaspar having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Lucas Esteves recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emanuel de Queirós. Lucas Esteves showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-2. 85 minutes into the game, Matuapira FutBol Club's Renato Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juninho Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. When Danilo Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matuapira FutBol Club's protests and gave Danilo Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. Danilo Araújo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match.
