Albertinho Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Botelho in the 20th minute of play forced Animação Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Hílton de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olavo Branco hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 29th match minute, Animação Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Souza to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Alexsandro Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexsandro Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Hílton de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Fred Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gladiadores Futebol Clube's Albertinho Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Albertinho Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Teixeira in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Animação Futebol Clube were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 59th minute, Betinho Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Animação Futebol Clube's Hílton de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Botelho in the 63rd minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Gladiadores Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorival Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute Alexsandro Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Animação Futebol Clube's Nestor Queirós got a free kick in the 75th minute. Hílton de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Rafael Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gladiadores Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Kiko Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute, Alexsandro Ortiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hílton de Brito was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Nestor Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nestor Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gladiadores Futebol Clube had won after a very even match.
