Michel Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castelhano. Michel Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho da Silveira in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Castelhano's Silvinho Dionísio got a free kick in the 13th minute. Michel Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Poolzão FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castelhano the free kick. Eurico Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Flavinho Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Azevedo having to interfere. Michel Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavinho Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Germano Bertassi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nelsinho Pitta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Germano Bertassi notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Castelhano's Nelsinho Pitta. Nelsinho Pitta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 55 played minutes, Poolzão FC's Eurico Marinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nelsinho Pitta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poolzão FC reached it. If Andrézinho da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Poolzão FC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardinho Seco. Michel Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrézinho da Silveira in the 59th minute. Zé Paulo de Sena's late challenge caught a Castelhano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Paulo de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Paulo de Sena hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Poolzão FC's Michel Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Poolzão FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Fiori Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poolzão FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Germano Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavinho Veloso in the 78th minute of play forced Poolzão FC's goalkeeper Michel Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Poolzão FC's Michel Azevedo got control of the ball when Andrézinho da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nelsinho Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fiori Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Andrézinho da Silveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michel Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrézinho da Silveira ran back to his position shaking his head. Michel Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Veloso in the 89th minute of the match. Poolzão FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Castelhano for a fine match.
