Víktor Zonta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Murilo Reis in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute Murilo Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víktor Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luciano Fiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Aloísio Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Beronhoso Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. André Luiz Marques hit a great ball. After 21st play minutes Murilo Reis shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Víktor Zonta and just under the crossbar into goal. Murilo Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Víktor Zonta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. After 25 minutes of play, Beronhoso Futebol Clube's Luciano Fiz made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aloísio Cordeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Murilo Reis took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Víktor Zonta. Víktor Zonta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 37 minutes into the game, Fernandão Arósio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Víktor Zonta. Fernandão Arósio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Luciano Fiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aloísio Cordeiro having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luciano Fiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Víktor Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandão Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Murilo Reis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 2 de Julho EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. 59 minutes into the match, Beronhoso Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Cavalcante came free, but Víktor Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Beronhoso Futebol Clube's Fred Baiano got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 61 played minutes, 2 de Julho EC's Dino Netto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Víktor Zonta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 2 de Julho EC reached it. Inácio Sergipano made in the 64th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Celsinho Cavalcante. Víktor Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandão Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aloísio Cordeiro made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Luciano Fiz sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute, Murilo Reis made a precise shot to the right of Víktor Zonta. Beronhoso Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. 2 de Julho EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
