Ramiro Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramiro Ferreira during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Baltazar Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Alfredão Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Antônio Corrêa came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Ponta EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Corrêa couldn't finish the play. Faustão Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Mandrak in the 15th minute of the match. Antônio Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Cavalcante having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Gerber in the 19th minute of play forced Ponta EC's goalkeeper Alfredão Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredão Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Gerber in the 20th minute of play. Chambivas SC's Ramiro Ferreira got his second yellow card of the match in the 27th minute. The referee ordered Ramiro Ferreira off the ground. After 28 played minutes Chambivas SC got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Ferreira. Antônio Corrêa might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Faustão Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio Corrêa ran back to his position shaking his head. Baltazar Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Alfredão Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Moreira having to interfere. The supporters of Chambivas SC booed when Ponta EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ponta EC's goalkeeper Alfredão Moreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cipriano Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Chambivas SC's zone, Arí Mandrak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustão Cavalcante came out of the goal and Arí Mandrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Antônio Corrêa made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Arí Mandrak fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 54 minutes into the match, Baltazar Guimarães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredão Moreira. Ponta EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baltazar Guimarães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Ponta EC's zone, Baltazar Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredão Moreira came out of the goal and Baltazar Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute, Ponta EC's Antônio Corrêa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Arí Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arí Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faustão Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baltazar Guimarães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredão Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Baltazar Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Faustão Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Corrêa in the 76th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Benjamim Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Cipriano Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chambivas SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cipriano Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredão Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chambivas SC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
