Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Delfim do Vale took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute, Delfim do Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Delfim do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vito Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vito Mendes hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The supporters of Palestra booed when Taireta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Ramón Damião came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Taireta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramón Damião couldn't finish the play. Vitório Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Ramón Damião struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Pedrão Negri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taireta. In the 38th minute Claudinei Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With splendid footwork Ramón Damião arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 39th minute. Claudinei Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramón Damião was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Taireta's Ramón Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedrão Negri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Rafa Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taireta's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafa Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudinei Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Negri having to interfere. Pedrão Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Damião in the 56th minute of play. Palestra's Pedrão Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Damião in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Palestra's Vitório Catarinense got a free kick in the 61st minute. Ramón Damião scored 3-0 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrão Negri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Taireta's Richard Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Rafa Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taireta's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafa Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Taireta's Ramón Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinei Souto might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedrão Negri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinei Souto ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramón Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Pedrão Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramón Damião in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedrão Negri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Rafa Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the game, Taireta's Ramón Damião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedrão Negri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After 90 played minutes Palestra got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Andrade. Pedrão Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 played minutes Palestra got a freekick which was hit by Vitório Catarinense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Damião in the 94th minute of play forced Palestra's goalkeeper Pedrão Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
