He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ponta da Praia FC reached it. The Ponta da Praia FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Ponta da Praia FC's Artemio Donio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 32 minutes, Artemio Donio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponta da Praia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Donio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Washington França notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ponta da Praia FC's Tiago Neves. Tiago Neves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Artemio Donio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Juninho de Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 09 de Julho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artemio Donio to make the kick off. Laerte Paraense hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute of the match Alexsandro de Godoi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Alagoano skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juninho de Almeida in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiago Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute, Artemio Donio fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Humberto Alagoano, passed just outside the right post. In the 59th play minute Artemio Donio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Humberto Alagoano. 2-2. Sydney Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ponta da Praia FC's Samuel Oskarbi got a free kick in the 68th minute. Washington França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ponta da Praia FC booed when 09 de Julho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ponta da Praia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 09 de Julho the free kick. Rubinho Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Ponta da Praia FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
