Afonsinho Loureiro was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Orlando Gerber capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Orlando Gerber really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Licio FC's zone, Pedro Luiz Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Dias came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Isaltino Saraiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonsinho Loureiro. Caboto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaltino Saraiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Caboto's Pedro Luiz Cardozo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Paulo Cavalcante charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Paulo Cavalcante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luiz Paulo Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Pedro Luiz Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Dias having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Cardozo scored 2-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celso Dias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. During the 35th minute of the match Luiz Paulo Cavalcante completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luiz Paulo Cavalcante a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After some careless play in the Licio FC defense, Rubinho Pires kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Dias. The Licio FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Dias should have stopped the shot. When Rogério Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caboto's protests and gave Rogério Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Caboto got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Vinhas.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isaltino Saraiva made a kick off. After some careless play in the Licio FC defense, Rubinho Pires kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Dias. The Licio FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Dias should have stopped the shot. Isaltino Saraiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonsinho Loureiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isaltino Saraiva ran back to his position shaking his head. Orlando Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Loureiro having to interfere. If Pedro Luiz Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Isaltino Saraiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonsinho Loureiro was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. A hard shot 64 in the game by Rubinho Pires from a close distance when the talented Celso Dias managed to make a qualified save. Isaltino Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubinho Pires struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Celso Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caboto. Caboto's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
