The supporters of Ponta da Praia FC booed when Tuiti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ponta da Praia FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Rubinho Vasconcelos hit a great ball. Afonso Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Donio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute Artemio Donio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match Ponta da Praia FC got a corner. Tuiti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Nuno Paraibano sped through Ponta da Praia FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tiago Neves. Tuiti's Afonso Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Donio in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Tuiti's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Velloso came free, but Afonso Alagoano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ponta da Praia FC's Artemio Donio got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artemio Donio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiago Neves made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Nuno Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Ponta da Praia FC's Gláuber de Sousa got a free kick in the 45th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artemio Donio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Nuno Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Tuiti got a freekick which was hit by Dinei Antunes. In the 78th minute, Artemio Donio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
