After some careless play in the SE Palmeiras defense, Magno Velloso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Túlio de Salles. The SE Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Túlio de Salles should have stopped the shot. Afonso Alagoano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evandro Linares's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute, SE Palmeiras's Evandro Linares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Afonso Alagoano. Afonso Alagoano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. After 48 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Freitas. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Hamílton Maciel hit a great ball. Túlio de Salles was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Antônio Diniz. In the 79thth minute of the game Evandro Linares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tuiti's Afonso Alagoano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Evandro Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Afonso Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
