To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evandro Linares in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléberson Viana saved Cruzeiro MG from getting behind. Evandro Linaress short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Cléberson Viana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. André Luís Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Evandro Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléberson Viana having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Luan Reis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cléberson Viana. Luan Reis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Túlio de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Messias in the 75th minute of play. Tiaguinho Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio de Salles having to interfere. Cléberson Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luan Reis in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute, SE Palmeiras's Evandro Linares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Marcos Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléberson Viana having to interfere. If Ian Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Cruzeiro MG defense, Vinícius Moreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cléberson Viana. The Cruzeiro MG fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cléberson Viana should have stopped the shot. When the match was over SE Palmeiras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cruzeiro MG throughout the match.
