In the 5thth minute of the game Artemio Donio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Licio FC's Celso Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Celso Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Donio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho Velloso in the 7th minute of play forced Licio FC's goalkeeper Celso Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiago Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexsandro de Godoi hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Celso Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artemio Donio's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Artemio Donio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Dias having to interfere. A collision led to Ponta da Praia FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Alexsandro de Godoi hit a great ball. After 20 minutes of play, Licio FC's Isaltino Saraiva made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiago Neves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Artemio Donio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Licio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Donio came free, but Celso Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexsandro de Godoi hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes, Licio FC's Claudinei Bueno shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tiago Neves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Licio FC reached it. Luizinho Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Dias having to interfere. When Ponta da Praia FC's Luizinho Velloso in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Licio FC's goalie prevented a goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Orlando Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. Licio FC's Celso Dias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Licio FC from getting a goal against them. Celso Dias was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Artemio Donio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 54 minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Ponta da Praia FC's Artemio Donio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celso Dias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho Branco during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes Licio FC got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Branco. Rubinho Vasconcelos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Celso Dias. Licio FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Artemio Donio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celso Dias. Licio FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artemio Donio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Ponta da Praia FC's Artemio Donio got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Ponta da Praia FC's Artemio Donio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. After 77 minutes, Alexsandro de Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponta da Praia FC and the Licio FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 77 played minutes Ponta da Praia FC got a freekick which was hit by Alexsandro de Godoi. Artemio Donio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Celso Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Dias was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Artemio Donio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 88 minute of play. Gláuber de Sousa's late challenge caught a Licio FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gláuber de Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Ponta da Praia FC got a freekick which was hit by Gláuber de Sousa. After recieving a nice pass, Ponta da Praia FC's Alexsandro de Godoi tried to score from far away in the 96th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ponta da Praia FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
