An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington França in the 4th minute of play forced Canuma SC's goalkeeper Naldo Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Magno Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Washington França came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the 09 de Julho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Washington França couldn't finish the play. After 16 played minutes 09 de Julho got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Catarinense. In the 22nd minute Washington França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Washington França came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the 09 de Julho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Washington França couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Washington França in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Naldo Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute, Felipe Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 played minutes 09 de Julho got a freekick which was hit by Juninho de Almeida. Canuma SC's Naldo Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington França in the 36th minute of play. Juninho de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Washington França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Magno Gaspar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Humberto Alagoano came out and tried to block the shot, but Magno Gaspar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 49th minute. After the first half 09 de Julho were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho de Almeida to make the kick off. Washington França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juninho de Almeidas short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Naldo Miranda to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 62 minutes, Juninho de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 09 de Julho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juninho de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Washington França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Naldo Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho de Almeida in the 72nd minute of play. Washington França might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Naldo Miranda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Washington França ran back to his position shaking his head. Juninho de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Miranda having to interfere. Yuri Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Naldo Miranda made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Washington França sent off a good shot on target. When 09 de Julho's Juninho de Almeida in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Canuma SC's goalie prevented a goal. If Juninho de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Washington França managed to get in a good position for a shot. 09 de Julho's supporters rose to their feet, but Washington França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Naldo Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Canuma SC's Yuri Marquez got a free kick in the 101st minute. 09 de Julho's Yuri Goiano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 102nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Canuma SC. The Canuma SC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. 09 de Julho were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
