Ponta da Praia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Donio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luizinho Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SE Palmeiras booed when Ponta da Praia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 76th minute, Oséas Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiago Neves came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by SE Palmeiras's Vinícius Moreira. But to his dismay, Vinícius Moreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ponta da Praia FC had played much better football throughout.
