Spectators: 7234 (Terracing: 5427, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ian Messias kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Ian Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro MG's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Alagoano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Humberto Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléberson Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington França, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Cléberson Viana came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by 09 de Julho's Juninho de Almeida. But to his dismay, Juninho de Almeida quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Juninho de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Conrado Carvalho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cléberson Viana. Cruzeiro MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conrado Carvalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. A collision led to Cruzeiro MG getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. André Luís Peixoto hit a great ball. After 33 minutes of play, 09 de Julho's Juninho de Almeida made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cléberson Viana was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute, Washington França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Washington França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cléberson Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Juninho de Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the 09 de Julho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juninho de Almeida couldn't finish the play. Juninho de Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Cléberson Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho de Almeida to make the kick off. Washington França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, Washington França notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Cruzeiro MG's Cléberson Viana. Cléberson Viana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Eriberto Leão fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cruzeiro MG's protests and gave Eriberto Leão a yellow card for diving instead. Eriberto Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Washington França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléberson Viana having to interfere. Tiaguinho Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cléberson Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho de Almeida in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, 09 de Julho's Juninho de Almeida dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Washington França got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Juninho de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Cléberson Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 09 de Julho. Washington França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Cléberson Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiaguinho Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 09 de Julho played a much better game than Cruzeiro MG and deserved their victory. The Cruzeiro MG players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
