Licio FC's Celso Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magno Velloso in the 5th minute of play. Licio FC's Claudinei Bueno suffered a sore thigh after 8 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Licio FC booed when Tuiti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Antônio Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Alagoano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ezequiel Meireles. Dinei Antunes's late challenge caught a Licio FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dinei Antunes helped the player get up and apologised. Nuno Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute Marcel Trevisan suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Paulo Cavalcante during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes Licio FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Cavalcante. Celso Dias came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Tuiti's Magno Velloso. But to his dismay, Magno Velloso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Isaltino Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaltino Saraiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Alagoano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Licio FC's Toninho Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Licio FC's Isaltino Saraiva got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Isaltino Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 minutes, Valério Meira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Licio FC and the Tuiti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, one of Licio FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Licio FC. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Tuiti. Antônio Diniz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Celso Dias. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Tuiti's Nuno Paraibano got a free kick in the 54th minute. Celso Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Luiz Paulo Cavalcante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaltino Saraiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Alagoano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Luiz Paulo Cavalcante got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Luiz Paulo Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Magno Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Celso Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tuiti's Dinei Antunes in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Licio FC's goalie prevented a goal. Licio FC's Celso Dias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Licio FC from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute, Magno Velloso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Celso Dias, passed just outside the right post. In the 91st match minute, Licio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Branco to maneuver through the defense. If Magno Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celso Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Tuiti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
