Túlio de Salles was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Washington França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes, SE Palmeiras's Hugo da Mata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Humberto Alagoano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SE Palmeiras reached it. 09 de Julho's Juninho de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juninho de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Túlio de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Humberto Alagoano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evandro Linares's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Túlio de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho de Almeida in the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute of the match Yuri Goiano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Túlio de Salles skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Hugo da Mata hit a great ball. Yuri Goiano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Túlio de Salles. SE Palmeiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Evandro Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SE Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evandro Linares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juninho de Almeida took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Túlio de Salles. Túlio de Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 09 de Julho's Juninho de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SE Palmeiras's Hamílton Maciel suffered a sore thigh after 75 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 75 minutes into the game, Egídio Catarinense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 09 de Julho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SE Palmeiras the free kick. Evandro Linares in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
