Carlinhos Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 10 played minutes Xandy FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Travassos. Reinaldo Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute of the match Ademar Veloso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlinhos Donatello skillfully saved the ball. Vânderson Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Rômulo Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlinhos Donatello was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Rômulo Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xandy FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rômulo Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Carlinhos Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rômulo Pereira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Carlinhos Donatello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlinhos Donatello came out of the goal and Josué Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur do Valle in the 79th minute of play forced Xandy FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rômulo Pereira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlinhos Donatello came out and tried to block the shot, but Rômulo Pereira slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 86th minute.
