But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Rezende couldn't finish the play. After 11 minutes, Armandinho Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sociedade Palestra Verde and the Felicidale FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sociedade Palestra Verde getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Armandinho Brito hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isaltino Pirani in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Olofsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 16 minutes into the match, Sociedade Palestra Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Salles came free, but Daniel Olofsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Olofsson having to interfere. Toninho Brodel succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 38th playminute. Toninho Brodel took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Prado. Ruy Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Rezende to strike the kick off in the second half. When Antônio Carlos Paulista fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Felicidale FC's protests and gave Antônio Carlos Paulista a yellow card for diving instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Felicidale FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Rezende came free, but Ruy Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 minutes, Toninho Brodel made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Felicidale FC's Ruy Prado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Toninho Brodel took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Prado. Ruy Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Sociedade Palestra Verde's Toninho Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Felicidale FC booed when Sociedade Palestra Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Brodel in the 95th minute of play forced Felicidale FC's goalkeeper Ruy Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sociedade Palestra Verde fully deserved thier win.
