Paulão Cordeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dito Cavalcante went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Charles Prata came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Vergasta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Prata couldn't finish the play. Vergasta FC's Dito Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Pedro Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Paulão Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vergasta FC's Dito Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vergasta FC's José Pedro Bertassi suffered a sore knee after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Genílson Trevisan fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caraquinha FC's protests and gave Genílson Trevisan a yellow card for diving instead. Genílson Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Dito Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. After 95 minutes, Valério Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book.
