Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when José Maria Guedes got the match started through his kick off. Nilmar Donatello hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 3 played minutes, Caraquinha FC's Mazinho Carvalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Pedro Melo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Caraquinha FC reached it. Fenix FC's Dino Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, José Maria Guedes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paulão Cordeiro. José Maria Guedes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Afonso de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Caraquinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso de Sena couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clóvis Brasil during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 25 played minutes Fenix FC got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Brasil. 28 minutes into the match, Fenix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso de Sena came free, but José Pedro Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Maria Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Cordeiro having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, Caraquinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. Dino Massa struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Paulão Cordeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenix FC. Paulão Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Guedes in the 34th minute of play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Caraquinha FC's goalkeeper Paulão Cordeiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulão Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Caraquinha FC's goalkeeper Paulão Cordeiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dino Massa. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonso de Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dino Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Cordeiro having to interfere. José Maria Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Paulão Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 64 minutes, José Maria Guedes made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Caraquinha FC's Paulão Cordeiro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fenix FC's Dino Massa in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caraquinha FC's goalie prevented a goal. Paulão Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Guedes in the 73rd minute of play. Allan Dantas hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Dino Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Paulão Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dino Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulão Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Massa in the 84th minute of the match. When Genílson Trevisan fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caraquinha FC's protests and gave Genílson Trevisan a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Dantas during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th match minute, Caraquinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Dantas to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 5-0 when José Maria Guedes sped through Caraquinha FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulão Cordeiro. Caraquinha FC's Agnaldo Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Fenix FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
