PONTE PRETA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Diamantino Mazza scored to the left of an out of position Guga Goiano, making the score, 1-0. Guga Goiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horácio Santana in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Diamantino Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Centauros's supporters rose to their feet, but Diamantino Mazza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Guga Goiano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

53 minutes into the match, Diamantino Mazza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guga Goiano. PONTE PRETA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diamantino Mazza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Centauros's Diogo da Rocha got a free kick in the 55th minute. Nilton Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in PONTE PRETA's zone, Diamantino Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Goiano came out of the goal and Diamantino Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guga Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horácio Santana in the 65th minute of the match. Guga Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horácio Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alan Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
