The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in AS Novelli's zone, Diamantino Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After some careless play in the Centauros defense, Flávio Esteves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Barbosa. The Centauros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Barbosa should have stopped the shot. Diamantino Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Flávio Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS Novelli's supporters rose to their feet, but Flávio Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Diogo da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diamantino Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renan Ortiz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Edson Barros. 49 minutes in the game, Horácio Santana fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Renan Ortiz having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diamantino Alagoano to make the kick off. When Diogo da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Centauros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diogo da Rocha couldn't finish the play. Renan Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Diamantino Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Centauros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Mazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Renan Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Diamantino Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Alagoano in the 89th minute of play forced Centauros's goalkeeper Miguel Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alan Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, AS Novelli's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio Santana came free, but Renan Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 98 minutes of play Centauros's Diogo da Rocha was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 99th minute, Diogo da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
