Zé de Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Maurício Diniz made a huge save. If Percival Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cícero Laras short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Dagoberto Penha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
