The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Datas SS got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Marquez. Datas SS's Zé Pedro Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Sergipano in the 7th minute of play. If Luiz Guilherme Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Felipe Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, José Augusto Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Sergipano in the 26th minute of play forced Datas SS's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Sebastião Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Datas SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastião Couto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Capixaba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sebastião Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Capixaba having to interfere. Datas SS's Luiz Guilherme Gaúcho got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Datas SS's Juninho Capixaba threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sebastião Couto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Juninho Capixaba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastião Couto's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. José Augusto Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Pedro Arce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, E.F JFL Palmares's Ivo Aparecido got a free kick in the 44th minute. Datas SS's Luiz Guilherme Gaúcho got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when José Augusto Domingues made the kick off in the second half. José Augusto Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Zé Pedro Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrício Velloso charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrício Velloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabrício Velloso hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Daniel Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Zé Pedro Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Sergipanos short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Zé Pedro Arce to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião Couto in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Capixaba saved E.F JFL Palmares from getting behind. Daniel Sergipano made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 67thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Zé Pedro Arce would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Francisco do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Daniel Sergipano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eurico Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Capixaba having to interfere. Orlando Martins hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Juninho Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Couto in the 91st minute of play. Juninho Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Datas SS's Sebastião Couto in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E.F JFL Palmares's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 94 minutes, Daniel Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.F JFL Palmares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The E.F JFL Palmares players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Datas SS from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
