In the 22nd minute Matías Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elder Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. San Lorenzo's Tadeu Capixaba suffered a sore thigh after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 27 minutes, Tiaguinho Zonta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAVERIK and the San Lorenzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Egídio Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Sílvio Dionísio succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 88th playminute. Sílvio Dionísio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elder Cabral having to make a save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. MAVERIK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
