Jailson Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Dráusio Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Expressinho-ES F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráusio Branco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jailson Berger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilmar Vale took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredão de Queiroz. Alfredão de Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Guga Vander, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 21 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jailson Berger was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of Expressinho-ES F.C booed when Raffas Sport Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Severo struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jailson Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Expressinho-ES F.C. Guga Vander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jailson Berger having to make a save. Igor Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Expressinho-ES F.C's zone, Arí Urbano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredão de Queiroz came out of the goal and Arí Urbano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Expressinho-ES F.C's goalkeeper Alfredão de Queiroz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 47 minutes, Arí Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Raffas Sport Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arí Urbano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilmar Vale made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Guga Vander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jailson Berger was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. After 52 minutes, Arí Urbano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Raffas Sport Clube and the Expressinho-ES F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arí Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Guga Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Berger having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luiz Tavares in the 57th minute of play forced Raffas Sport Clube's goalkeeper Jailson Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jailson Berger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guga Vander's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Guga Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Berger having to interfere. Raffas Sport Clube's Igor Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 71 played minutes Raffas Sport Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Vale. Raffas Sport Clube's Douglas Breckenfeld suffered a sore thigh after 75 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Guga Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Expressinho-ES F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Guga Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a rather tough play, Expressinho-ES F.C's Guga Vander got a free kick in the 77th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardinho Lira during the 78th minute.
