After a defensive mix-up in BOLINHO FC's zone, Dalmo Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Carvalho came out of the goal and Dalmo Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, Catuira's goalkeeper Edmílson Cosme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lenílson Godoi. In the 18th minute, Antônio Carlos Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lenílson Godoi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Edmílson Cosme when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 20 played minutes Catuira got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Lago. Edmílson Cosme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lenílson Godoi went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Chiquinho Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dalmo Chaves in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivo Carvalho saved BOLINHO FC from getting behind. In the 30th minute Nestor Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sílvio Luís Recife fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BOLINHO FC's protests and gave Sílvio Luís Recife a yellow card for diving instead. 2-1 became the score in the 34th minute when Nestor Custódio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, BOLINHO FC's Ezequiel Albuquerque got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Chiquinho Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. BOLINHO FC's Ezequiel Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lenílson Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmílson Cosme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lenílson Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dalmo Chaves to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Nestor Custódio made a precise shot to the right of Edmílson Cosme. Catuira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 56 minutes into the game, Lenílson Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Edmílson Cosme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Lenílson Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. BOLINHO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmílson Cosme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 77 minutes, Nestor Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BOLINHO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Custódio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lenílson Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Nestor Custódio notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Catuira's Edmílson Cosme. Edmílson Cosme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lenílson Godoi struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Edmílson Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BOLINHO FC. If Cristiano Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmílson Cosme came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by BOLINHO FC's Lenílson Godoi. But to his dismay, Lenílson Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. There was no doubt that BOLINHO FC were the better team. BOLINHO FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
