But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo Vander couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, PQL F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Vander came free, but José Maria Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Faria struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ruy Prestes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PQL F.C.. Sidnei Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Fiori Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambaras's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Guedes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edvaldo Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Fiori Guedes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of José Maria Eger. Edvaldo Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Cambaras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fiori Guedes was the one to do the kick off. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 98th match minute, Cambaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvaldo Vander to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded Cambaras left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PQL F.C..
