Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Peres in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivo Carvalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lenílson Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lenílson Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrézinho da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Godoi in the 29th minute of the match. Mathias Saldanha was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After the first half BOLINHO FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor Custódio was the one to do the kick off. The tension between the Mercenários FC and the BOLINHO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 53 minutes into the game, Nestor Custódio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Andrézinho da Costa. Nestor Custódio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in BOLINHO FC's zone, Dudu Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Carvalho came out of the goal and Dudu Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivo Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd match minute, BOLINHO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, BOLINHO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Peres came free, but Ivo Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimir Pirani hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Lenílson Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the BOLINHO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenílson Godoi couldn't finish the play.
