Nelsinho França helped the player get up and apologised. João Pedro Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Pedro Severo to make the kick off. Cururupe's Gerson Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Cururupe booed when Venesa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denílson da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that João Pedro Severo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antônio Carlos Brodel was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Gerson Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Brodel having to interfere. Cururupe's César da Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Cururupe from getting a goal against them. Elias Alves came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and César da Rocha could save by the left post. A nice corner shot did that Sydney de Sousa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Antônio Carlos Brodel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
