Dalmo Chaves started the match with the kick off. If Armandinho Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmílson Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Varela in the 7th minute of the match. Abelardo Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Catuira's zone, Abelardo Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmílson Cosme came out of the goal and Abelardo Varela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Catuira's Edmílson Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Varela in the 24th minute of play. Catuira's Chiquinho Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tostão Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Marco Vasconcelos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Forkcity F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catuira the free kick. The supporters of Catuira booed when Forkcity F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chiquinho Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yan Soeiro having to interfere. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Catuira's goalkeeper Edmílson Cosme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Forkcity F. C.'s Luiz Fabiano Brodel got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Abelardo Varela struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Edmílson Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Forkcity F. C.. After 63 played minutes Catuira got a freekick which was hit by Iuri Antunes. When Armandinho Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Forkcity F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armandinho Carvalho couldn't finish the play. After having played for 75 minutes, Chiquinho Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catuira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquinho Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Edu Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Tostão Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Armandinho Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 91 played minutes Catuira got a freekick which was hit by Dalmo Chaves. Abelardo Varela scored 2-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmílson Cosme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Catuira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Forkcity F. C..
