Spectators: 6532 (Terracing: 5432, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fábio Reis took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Celsinho Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EC Bahia's protests and gave Celsinho Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of São José FC booed when EC Bahia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute Fábio Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Pereira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Zé Carlos Pena notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of EC Bahia's Marco Jacinto. Marco Jacinto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 15 played minutes EC Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Godoi. 19 minutes into the match, São José FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Reis came free, but Hílton Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 minutes, Fábio Reis made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. São José FC's Hílton Pereira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hílton Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franklin Loureiro in the 25th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Fábio Reis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hílton Pereira. That made the score 2-1 in the 26 minute of play. In the 31st minute, Váldson Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute of the match Marcus Hermes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Jacinto skillfully saved the ball. Marco Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Palmeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Carlos Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Marco Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franklin Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Pereira having to interfere.

Fábio Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Jacinto having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Téo Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. São José FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Téo Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Pena in the 57th minute of play forced EC Bahia's goalkeeper Marco Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Carlos Pena in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Jacinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as São José FC's Zé Carlos Pena slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marco Jacinto. That made the score 2-2 after 66 minutes of play. The supporters of São José FC booed when EC Bahia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Váldson Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Marcus Hermes from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Marco Jacinto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Fábio Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Pereira having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, São José FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. If Fábio Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
