The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dagoberto Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dudu Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Castro having to interfere. When Matías Terra came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the MARANATA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matías Terra couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute, Luís Fabiano Falcão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MARANATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matías Terra in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão da Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paris Saint Germain! The goalkeeper, Faustão da Silva, was totally fooled by MARANATA's Armandinho Secco, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Dagoberto Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Paris Saint Germain's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Terra came free, but Faustão da Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Paris Saint Germain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osmar Dracena to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fabiano Falcão's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Faustão da Silva skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Faustão da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Terra in the 35th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, MARANATA's Luís Fabiano Falcão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Faustão da Silva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Paris Saint Germain's Faustão da Silva got control of the ball when Luís Fabiano Falcão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Matías Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Faustão da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Sabóia got free with Michel Castro in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Luís Fabiano Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When MARANATA's Matías Terra in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paris Saint Germain's goalie prevented a goal. 68 minutes into the game, Aníbal de Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paris Saint Germain's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MARANATA the free kick. The supporters of MARANATA booed when Paris Saint Germain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal de Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, MARANATA's Antony Dias got a free kick in the 71st minute. 79 minutes into the match, MARANATA's goal looked a bit too open when Dudu Magalhães came free, but Michel Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Faustão da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Terra in the 83rd minute of play. In the 88th minute, Luís Fabiano Falcão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Paris Saint Germain's zone, Matías Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustão da Silva came out of the goal and Matías Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that MARANATA were the better team. MARANATA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
