Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tapera's Alberto Ribeiro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alberto Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 7 minutes, Augusto Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tupirama and the Tapera players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tupirama getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Augusto Santos hit a great ball. In the 12th minute Sílvio Luís Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Ribeiro in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar Rosa saved Tupirama from getting behind. Gilmar Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bebeto de Mendonça in the 26th minute of the match. Armando Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Tupirama getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Augusto Santos hit a great ball. Clóvis Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Túlio Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilmar Rosa made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Bebeto de Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Tupirama booed when Tapera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes Tapera got a freekick which was hit by Elias Fonseca. Elias Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Rosa having to interfere. A collision led to Tapera getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Elias Fonseca hit a great ball. Armando Arósio struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Túlio Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tupirama. The Tapera players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tupirama were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Arósio to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Clóvis Silveira notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Tapera's Túlio Porto. Túlio Porto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clóvis Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56thth minute of the game Armando Arósio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tapera's Túlio Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Bebeto de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Alberto Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Alberto Ribeiro notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Tupirama's Gilmar Rosa. Gilmar Rosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sílvio Luís Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match.
