Anier Sayvion was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gláuber de Toledo. Geovânio de Barros came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Anier Sayvion could save by the left post. In the 44th minute, Rodriguinho Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Geovânio de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Icaicara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovânio de Barros couldn't finish the play. After the first half Vanderslaike FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Anier Sayvion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Lopez in the 59th minute of the match. Oswaldo Perez hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Adhemar Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 minutes, Naldo Fonseca made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Icaicara's Henrique Neves tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 87 played minutes Vanderslaike FC got a freekick which was hit by Geovanni Vianna. 88 minutes into the match, Icaicara's Antônio Custódio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 93 minutes into the game, Gláuber de Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Icaicara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vanderslaike FC the free kick. Gláuber de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Icaicara lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
