Rubinho Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hílton Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Diamantino Arce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Casalvasco EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boi AD the free kick. A collision led to Casalvasco EC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Diamantino Arce hit a great ball. Gildo Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elivélton Palmeira's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Elivélton Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Gildo Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Gustavo Motta to make the kick off. The corner led Casalvasco EC's Jacinto Leme to fire away a dangerous shot which Rubinho Cunha despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elivélton Palmeira couldn't finish the play. Frédson Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Casalvasco EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
