Valério Matos really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Lúcio Messias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafinha Silva. Nautico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lúcio Messias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Taguarussu SS's Lúcio Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nautico's Rafinha Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Messias in the 25th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Nautico's Mauro Meirelles got a free kick in the 25th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Simão Gaúcho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafinha Silva. Nautico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simão Gaúcho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 36 minutes into the match, Taguarussu SS's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Mineiro came free, but Alberto Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute Erik Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Pires was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Caco Donatello showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 44 minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lúcio Messias made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Nautico defense, Lúcio Messias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafinha Silva. The Nautico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafinha Silva should have stopped the shot. In the 57thth minute of the game Júlio Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taguarussu SS's Alberto Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rafinha Silva was a little too slow when Lúcio Messias got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 3-5. Emanuel Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alberto Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Donatello hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. A collision led to Nautico getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Tarcisio Tasso hit a great ball. Rafinha Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Messias in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Lúcio Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lúcio Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Júlio Mineiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Pires was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Emanuel Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Alberto Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Pires having to interfere. If Júlio Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Taguarussu SS were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Nautico side.
