Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lúcio Messias started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Guapiranga's Renato Soeiro got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After a rather tough play, Guapiranga's Dadá Correia got a free kick in the 9th minute. Hélder Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Moreno in the 13th minute. Lúcio Messias was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Taguarussu SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 22 minutes into the game, Dadá Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guapiranga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taguarussu SS the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Dadá Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Erik Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Renatinho Moreira scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Pires, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hélder Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Messias in the 30th minute of the match. Victor Amaral lost his temper 32 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Hélder Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the game, Remo Gonçalves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taguarussu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guapiranga the free kick. A collision led to Taguarussu SS getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Remo Gonçalves hit a great ball. Anderson Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alberto Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taguarussu SS's Alberto Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Gaspar in the 45th minute of play. Remo Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When José Augusto Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Guapiranga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Meireles couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anderson Donato was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Guapiranga's Anderson Donato made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alberto Pires was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 55 minutes, Anderson Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guapiranga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anderson Donato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute Simão Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Erik Moreno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hélder Silva was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 64 minutes into the game, Nilson Motta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guapiranga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taguarussu SS the free kick. In the 64th match minute, Guapiranga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Motta to maneuver through the defense. When Adilson dos Santos fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guapiranga's protests and gave Adilson dos Santos a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Guapiranga got a freekick which was hit by Adilson dos Santos. Hélder Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Messias in the 76th minute of play. Matías Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Silva having to interfere. Hélder Silva came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Taguarussu SS's Lúcio Messias. But to his dismay, Lúcio Messias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. 86 minutes into the game, Célio de Godoy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taguarussu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guapiranga the free kick. In the 86th minute, Célio de Godoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélder Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matías Alcântara during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Guapiranga booed when Taguarussu SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Augusto Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alberto Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anderson Donato in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Taguarussu SS were the better team. Taguarussu SS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
