Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Henrique Lopes started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, CR Flamengo's Marcelo Peixoto got a free kick in the 4th minute. Henrique Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doni Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the game, Sydney do Nascimento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Doni Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Doni Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Lopes in the 23rd minute of the match. Dalmo Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dito Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. CR Flamengo's Doni Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Lopes in the 30th minute of play. Sydney do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Doni Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Lopes in the 39th minute of play forced CR Flamengo's goalkeeper Doni Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, CR Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Lopes came free, but Doni Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of CR Flamengo booed when Carcanha SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dito Branco was the one to do the kick off. Doni Ortiz's late challenge caught a CR Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doni Ortiz helped the player get up and apologised. Doni Ortiz hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 54thth minute of the game Dito Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carcanha SC's Dalmo Peixoto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes CR Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Régis Salgado. Doni Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sydney do Nascimento in the 62nd minute of play. When Carcanha SC's Henrique Lopes in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CR Flamengo's goalie prevented a goal. The referee ignored CR Flamengo's protests and gave Marcelo Peixoto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, CR Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Doni Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After some careless play in the CR Flamengo defense, Doni Ortiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doni Neves. The CR Flamengo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doni Neves should have stopped the shot. If Sydney do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Dalmo Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CR Flamengo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carcanha SC the free kick. Sydney do Nascimento struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Doni Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carcanha SC. Sydney do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Neves having to interfere.
