Rui Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Tande having to interfere. 4 minutes into the match, Cruzalia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Romeu de Amaral came free, but Breno Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aníbal de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Rui Schmidt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cruzalia EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Mellinho FC's Adhemar Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Ramos in the 17th minute of play. Carlos Fernando Aparecido hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Breno Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernani Trigo in the 26th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Cruzalia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Trigo came free, but Breno Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adhemar Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Ramos in the 39th minute of play. Rui Schmidt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Adhemar Tande when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Geovanni Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mellinho FC's protests and gave Geovanni Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Geovanni Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute, Geraldo Ramos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cruzalia EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The supporters of Mellinho FC booed when Cruzalia EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Aníbal de Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Adhemar Tande. Mellinho FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 68 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzalia EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mellinho FC the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Cruzalia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho Vianna to maneuver through the defense. Marcelinho Vianna was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Mellinho FC's Geovanni Marquez shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Breno Mello but with some difficulty. 77 minutes into the game, Cruzalia EC's Rui Schmidt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adhemar Tande made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Mellinho FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Geovanni Marquez in the 82nd minute. In the 89th minute, Rui Schmidt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hernani Trigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Breno Mello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hernani Trigo ran back to his position shaking his head. Mellinho FC's Romeu de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeu de Amaral got free with Breno Mello in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Romeu de Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
