Dedé Medeiros hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Homossexual Futebol Clube's Tiago Britto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chiquinho Fernandes during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 40 minutes, Nelson Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rondônia Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Camargo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo de Sena to strike the kick off in the second half. Homossexual Futebol Clube's Gilberto Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Sergipano in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rondônia Fc's zone, Leopoldo Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Barral came out of the goal and Leopoldo Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Rondônia Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Baptista came free, but Alex Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gonçalo de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rondônia Fc eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
