Fura bola FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Víktor Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgar do Vale made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Fura bola FC's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Sena came free, but Júlio Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar do Vale in the 52nd minute of play forced Counani's goalkeeper Egídio Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Edgar do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fura bola FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
