Itayopolis EC's Basílio Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Vander in the 4th minute of play. Basílio Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Itayopolis EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ulysses Catarinense came free, but Basílio Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Counani's Paulo Vander in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Simão Martins's late challenge caught a Itayopolis EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simão Martins helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Itayopolis EC booed when Counani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Itayopolis EC's Jorge Catarinense got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute, Itayopolis EC's Celso Donato ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Egídio Tavares. Egídio Tavares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 45th minute, Victor Sena made a precise shot to the right of Basílio Luz. Itayopolis EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3.

52 minutes into the game, Victor Sena recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Basílio Luz. Victor Sena showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. If Luisinho de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 played minutes, Counani's Fellipe Pena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Basílio Luz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Counani reached it. Basílio Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Ulysses Catarinense dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Basílio Luz, 1-5. In the 69th minute Celso Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Itayopolis EC's Celso Donato got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Basílio Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulysses Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basílio Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Sena in the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Counani's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Donato came free, but Egídio Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luisinho de Castro struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Egídio Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itayopolis EC. When Jorge Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Itayopolis EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Catarinense couldn't finish the play. The Itayopolis EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Counani's performance. The match ended with a win for Counani.
