Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Araguainha EC's Cafu Novaes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ramón Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armandinho Amaral in the 3rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Maleta's Armandinho Amaral got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 9th play minute Cafu Novaes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Kiko Velasco. 1-0. Ramón Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armandinho Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th match minute, Maleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Lopez to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute Armandinho Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramón Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Armandinho Amaral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maleta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Matorin in the 24th minute of play forced Araguainha EC's goalkeeper Ramón Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Walmyr Matorin made a precise shot to the right of Ramón Veloso. Araguainha EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Armandinho Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ramón Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 played minutes Araguainha EC got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Moura. In the 35th minute Armandinho Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramón Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidnei Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Mauro Barros came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Maleta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Barros couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Walmyr Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armandinho Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ramón Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armandinho Amaral in the 52nd minute of the match. If Cafu Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armandinho Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Veloso having to interfere. When Armandinho Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Maleta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armandinho Amaral couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armandinho Amaral in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramón Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walmyr Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Araguainha EC's Ramón Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Amaral in the 68th minute of play. Sidnei Moura's late challenge caught a Maleta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidnei Moura helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maleta booed when Araguainha EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armandinho Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Veloso having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Barros during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, Maleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Barros to maneuver through the defense. Armandinho Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Araguainha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cafu Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Alexandre Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Araguainha EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Dionísio couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the match, Armandinho Amaral dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ramón Veloso, 1-3. In the 85th match minute, Maleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Barros to maneuver through the defense. Araguainha EC's Alexandre Dionísio got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramón Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armandinho Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramón Veloso came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Maleta's Armandinho Amaral. But to his dismay, Armandinho Amaral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Araguainha EC's Ramón Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Amaral in the 94th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Araguainha EC's zone, Carlinhos Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramón Veloso came out of the goal and Carlinhos Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
